The American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation |
| In its April 2000 meeting, The IWCA Board
of Directors agreed to donate $10,000 from the club's research funds to the AKC
Canine Health Foundation Donor Advised Fund. Donor Advised Funds are used only for the projects which the individual breed club designates. In other words, only research which will specifically benefit the Irish Wolfhound, and which the IWCA approves, will receive funds. Until these funds are used they will earn the same as any funds invested by the Canine Health Foundation. The Foundation will provide the IWCA with a yearly accounting of the investments as well as any research pending which could be of interest to the Irish Wolfhound. When a research project has been reviewed and is deemed
worthy of investing our funds, the Health Foundation will match the
amount already designated for the project by the IWCA. The IWCA may submit any
projects it is interested in funding and the Foundation will pursue scientists interested
in the project. The Foundation also provides review for project proposals by a board of
experts in the field. All donations made by
individuals to the fund are tax deductible as well.
