IWCA 2020-2021 Board Elections Underway
04/20/2020

Voter information letters for the IWCA 2020-2021 Board election were mailed to all active voting members by our voting service, Simply Voting. Many of you received this letter in today’s mail. Additionally, active members who have opted in to receive electronic communication from IWCA received emails from vote@simplyvoting.com with a link to the on-line ballot.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 social distancing requirements, Simply Voting is unable to provide “in person” paper ballot counting. Therefore, in addition to on-line internet voting, telephone voting is also available. All voting members may vote on-line or by telephone. Directions for either voting method are in your voter information letter.

Despite many reviews of the ballot before going to print, we omitted the AKC Delegate position and candidate Eugenia Hunter from the ballot. We were not aware of that omission until this morning after 25 voters had cast their ballots. The AKC Delegate position and candidate has been added to the ballot and will be part of the ballot for the remainder of the election. If you voted prior to the AKC Delegate position being on the ballot you may recast your entire vote. Jeniffer Johnson will contact you to ask if you wish to recast your ballot. If you do, Simply Voting will reset your ballot and send you an email letting you know that has been done. See Eugenia’s biography and candidate statement below.

Voting will remain open until 11:59pm EDT on May 18, 2020. Election results will be announced at the on-line Annual General Membership meeting on Wednesday May 20, 2020 starting at 7:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time. Details for attending the on-line AGM will be forthcoming.
