News from ASFA ACOD
03/24/2014

IWCA Performance and Versatility Chair, Michael Demeter, reports from last weekend’s 2014 ASFA Annual Convention of Delegates that ASFA participation is down in general, as is being seen throughout the dog fancy. Irish Wolfhound participation has dropped from 167 to 49 hounds over the last 20 years. By a majority vote of ASFA delegates, Silken Windhounds are now a fully recognized breed for ASFA events, taking effect April 1, 2014. Michael also reports that the proposed additional point for BIF was rejected by the delegate body, the major objection being that a dog could gain a title in a single weekend having never run against its own breed.
